Wara al-Shari' (The Alley) is an instrumental piece for a traditional takht ensemble composed by Issa Boulos. The piece is in maqām (mode) bayātī and uses various rhythms, including malfūf and Karatchi. In this style, performers can add improvisations and extend or repeat certain parts.
