Little Composers is an educational program that is delivered through the medium of music. It is based on contemporary approaches used to encourage children to work as a team and as part of a larger group, and write their own lyrics and set them to music.

In the year 2000, Dr. Issa Boulos, a Palestinian composer and educator, initiated this program while teaching full-time at the Friends Schools in his hometown of Ramallah. The results were astounding and almost instantly prompted interest in the whole approach. This was substantiated by the support it received from the school and the various other local organizations until it grew into a project that went far beyond the whole town. Upon his arrival in Ramallah in the summer of 2000, Boulos established the music group NAWA to foster musical fine taste among the Palestinian public and particularly among children. This group very quickly became the main platform through which performances of Little Composers' creations were displayed to the public. At that point in time, NAWA determined the project’s conceptual, logistical and strategic goals and formally launched the project at several locations while coordinating with various organizations including Tamer, The Edward Said Conservatory of Music, First Ramallah Troupe, Helen Keller School for the Blind and Visually Impaired, al-Bira School for the Blind and Visually Impaired and various other schools in nearby refugee camps. From the fall of 2001 to the summer of 2001, the outcome was praised by the public, and the children left quite an impression on all those who attended any of their performances. The songs spoke to everyone, and the values and lessons that are embedded in each one of them provided diverse audiences with extraordinary spiritual exposure to the most fascinating and daring artistic and musical outcomes that were created by children.
